Rustic Tables

Summer weddings in the US this year didn’t stop at an LED light curtain backdrop to make the bridal table standout at the reception. No, a stand-out feature was the wide use of big chunky furniture, in particular rustic tables.

Stark, white table cloths aren’t a necessity if you make use of lovely wooden tables. It makes your table setting design seem so effortless (in a good way) because the wood is part of the whole aesthetic.

To break up the ‘clutter’ on a wooden table add a runner to compliment the centre pieces. Here are some examples:

1. White crockery and pastel coloured flower arrangements = fine cotton or linen runners

2. Beach wedding, natural colour palette and minimalist centre pieces = fine burlap or natural linen runners

3. Dark mahogany table, gold cutlery, glassware or vases = pastel cloth napkins and runners

Big rustic farm tables can seat the bridal party and make them feel like royalty or if you’re game enough to organise plenty for the entire guest list at the reception then more power to you! The tables will look amazing dressed with odd sized glass jars, wild posies, candles and table runners.
