Pastel Colours

January 12, 2014

Table settings, floral arrangements, bridesmaids’ dresses, groomsmen’s ties, wedding stationery... pastel colours will work for your wedding with simple touches to each aspect of the day.

Pastels are easy to work with because each colour works together, unlike bolder shades which if you’re not careful can end up looking cheap when matched up. A big trend is for bridesmaids to wear different coloured pastels: end result being a beautiful array of colour at the alter.

Have pastel appear from your guests’ first point of contact about your wedding, in the invitations. Then throughout the day: reception seating plan, place settings and menus.

Traditional black and white tuxes work well with any colour, however, should the groomsmen be game enough there really is a manly way to wear pastel!

One of the earlier decisions about the wedding that you and your other half should make is about the aesthetic of the day. More often than not you’ll both have some opposing ideas of what you want but being mature adults and having come this far in your relationship, assumingly with some compromises along the way, then meeting in the middle with wedding day aesthetic won’t be the end of the world.

When each of you see or think of something you like, keep a tab of it: mark it in the magazine, or create a Pinterest board specifically to fill-her-up with inspiration. You’ll soon see a theme, and if you see more than one you’ll have to choose then which path you want to go down.
